ABOUT OUR SHOP

In 14 years since beginning in the living room of Bryan’s home, Parris Guitars has become a fast-growing, full-service repair service. Located in the West Knoxville community, the shop serves musicians throughout east Tennessee, southern Kentucky, and northern Georgia. In addition to fretwork, setups, electroncs, and modificatons, Parris Guitars is East Tennessee’s only Plek center for advanced fretwork. Handling guitars, basses, banjos, mandolins, ukuleles, etc. we are capable to repair most any fretted instrument, electric or acoustic. Let us be your go-to shop for repairs and service!

OUR TEAM

BRYAN – Bryan started Parris Guitars as a side business after moving to Knoxville in 2009. As the shop has added other employees, his primary work now revolves around structural repairs, finish work, fretwork, and business development.

RANCE – Rance joined the team in 2019 after years of successful work as a jeweler. His primary work is setups, fret dressing, nuts, and saddles. Rance’s creativity, unique skills, and attention to detail set him apart as one of the best setup techs in East Tennessee.

JOSH – Josh came on board in late 2021 to help us stay caught up on electronics work. What was intended to be a short term contract has turned into a two-day per week job and we are lucky to have his talent here in the shop. Josh is also a seasoned guitar instructor and builds custom guitars and basses as Hobbs Guitars.

ELIAS – Elias is the latest addition to our team. He apprenticed with us during the summer of ’23 and quickly showed himself to be a rockstar setup tech! Elias also a skilled barista and runs a coffee shop with his family in Powell, TN.
